Graffiti or art? Or are they one  in same? Steve Rotman has been documenting San Francisco’s street art since 2004 and is considered quite the local hunter. Funkandjazz has been his moniker as he seeks out the back alleys of the city capturing some of the finest street art around. In 2009 Rotman published his first photo book on graffiti titled San Francisco Street Art which features some of the best art work found in the city neighborhoods including ‘the alleyways and hidden side streets of the Haight, the Tenderloin, and especially the Mission district’s Clarion Alley offer unexpected treats to visitors lucky enough to stumble upon them’.

Bay Area Street Art-1Rotman will be sharing his work and experiences with our community on Thursday July 10th at 6pm in  Main Library on W Orange Avenue. This FREE family friendly event offers a great slideshow presentation and lecture. Refreshments will be served.
