Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County Hosts Annual Youth of the Year Celebration

South San Francisco – (December 8, 2017) Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County will host the Annual Youth of the Year Celebration this Wednesday, December 13, *6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Orange Park, 201 W. Orange Avenue, South San Francisco. This year’s Celebration will honor outstanding Club Members from high schools in South San Francisco and Pacifica. The Youth of the Year program is the Boys & Girls Club’s premier recognition program, providing the highest honor any Club Member can receive.

The Youth of the Year program offers promising high school aged Club Members an opportunity to hone their leadership skills, make valuable connections, and gain access to more than $1 million in scholarship funds through regional, state, and national contests. The contest begins at *6pm on Wednesday; 3 North San Mateo County Club members (2 from South San Francisco and 1 from Pacifica) will compete to a panel of 3, who will judge them on leadership, citizenship and contributions to their communities.

The Youth of the Year Reception Celebration follows the contest at 6pm. The celebration is free and open to club members and their families. Special guests may attend upon inquiry to development@theclubs.org
