Housing Resource Fair – May 10

Come early to grab some coffee – complimentary of Starbucks Transit Village – and pastries before heading into one or more of our presentations. Presentation topics vary and start every hour as listed below. Visit our exhibitors at your own pace and be sure to ask lots of questions about what is available in our community to make your housing situation better. We will have informational goodies for you to take home, and you may even win a raffle prize!

Presentation Times and Topics

9:00 – 10:00 am

    • Becoming a Homeowner – gain a basic understanding of how home buying and home financing works. Learn about what to expect on your journey to homeownership.
    • Reverse Mortgages – for homeowners age 62 or older with equity in the home – learn how you can retain homeownership and receive monthly disbursements into your bank account from your lender.

10:00 – 11:00 am

    • First-time Hombuyer Loans – find out what your mortgage would look like with San Francisco Federal Credit Union.
    • Safety-net Housing Programs – hear from agencies in our community that answer many of our housing needs, including home sharing, emergency housing, and transitional housing.

11:00 – 12:00 pm

    • Homeownership with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco – information about how qualified and eligibe homebuyers can partner with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco to own a home with 0 down and 0 interest.
    • Potential Homebuyers products and services available through Chase.

12:00 – 1:00 pm

    • Products and Programs for Homebuyers – information about several available products and programs, including CalHFA FHA and CHDAP.
    • Energy Efficiency Upgrades at All Income Levels – hear from a panel of local agencies helping to cut your energy consumption and costs. Single family homeowners, homeowner associations, seniors on fixed incomes, and moderate and low-income homeowners can all benefit from this presentation.
