The IPP display at the SMC Fair in 2013
I am thrilled to make two announcements to you.
1. Improving Public Places won two first place ribbons at the recent San Mateo County Fair and $950 because of you! (more info below on the Improving Public Places)
The tree planting event on Centennial Way, in February, was one display and the other was an Avalon Park planting/restoration event.
Congratulations and thank you for a job well-done! The prize money will be used to purchase more plants and trees for SSF.
2. On Sunday, July 13 from 9am – 12pm we are in need of experienced planters for a planting event at the South San Francisco Conference Center to beautify the parking lot planting beds. The address is 255 S. Airport Boulevard. The material costs will be covered by the Conference Center.

Improving Public Places
*Improving Public Places Committee is a group of people sharing a common vision of beautifying various public places in South San Francisco. These places include City parks and facilities, as well as other highly visible public areas within the City. In order to fulfill our vision we need volunteers like you, whether you can donate your time for one day, for an entire project, or for upkeep of an area after completion of a project.
It’s a way of making new friends and meeting other people like YOU who take pride in their community and wish to keep it looking great! If you already have too many friends, fantastic. Bring them with you!!!
