Physicians at Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco are giving back to the community which is the core of the healthcare organizations mission. At the annual physician’s luncheon the group presented a $5,000 donation to North San Mateo County Boys and Girls Club.

This is the third year that the doctors have donated money at their annual event.  Dr. John Skerry, MD, Physician in Chief, wearing a traditional Hawaiian Lei in honor of this year’s theme, is pleased to be able to provide this support to our community.  “It’s so important that we remember that our care extends beyond the walls of the medical center and into the community,” said Dr. Skerry.  “We believe in keeping children involved in a safe and fun environment, such as the Boys and Girls Club.  We will continue to support these key partnerships in our community, where we know a difference is being made.”

“The Boys and Girls Club and Kaiser Permanente want the same thing happy, healthy, successful kids and adults,” said Sharon Dolan, Executive Director, and North San Mateo Boys & Girls Club.  “One of the things that keeps kids active is summer camp.  This donation means 15 kids will have a chance to go to summer camp for 3 weeks…15 kids who might have been stuck at home.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County are open to everyone 6 to 18 years old attending school.  Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential.
