Ross to open the door to great futures in South San Francisco

In-store giving campaign to provide funds Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County

Every year, nearly 4 million young people are served by Boys & Girls Clubs. To celebrate these extraordinary efforts, Ross Stores, Inc. (NYSE: FDO) announced that it is partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) with a four-week program called, “Open the Door to Great Futures.” Through Feb. 28, Ross customers in Pacifica and South San Francisco can make a monetary contribution at checkout to be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County this February. Participating locations are Pacifica (Linda Mar Shopping Center), Daly City (Westlake Shopping Center), and Daly City (Gellert Blvd.).

 

“Ross is committed to supporting the youth in the communities we serve,” said Gary Cribb, executive vice president, Stores and Loss Prevention for Ross Stores, Inc. “In the month of February, we invite our customers to join us in donating to the Power Hour program to help youth develop the study skills they need to excel in their studies and beyond.”

  • 100% of proceeds raised at each store will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs
  • Every $3 donation helps provide one hour of homework help for a Club youth
  • $15 helps keep a kid safe after school today

About Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County

The Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County serves over 2,500 children and youth each year at 6 sites in Pacifica and South San Francisco. The Club’s vision is that every child achieves academic success and has developed a plan for the future, every child is physically active every day, and every child as a positive sense of self.

 

In South San Francisco, over 300 members each day attend afterschool programs at the Orange Park, Paradise Valley, Sunshine Gardens Elementary School and Alta Loma Middle School Clubhouses. Club staff provide homework help, healthy snacks, sports and arts programs, seasonal day camps, and digital media classes. An additional 600 children and youth also participate in yearly athletic leagues offered through the Orange Park Clubhouse.
