SSFPD Media Release: Residential Burglary, Felony Evading, Hit & Run

On 02/28/2016 at about 9:40am, alert neighbors reported seeing unknown persons entering the backyard of a residence on  the  500 block  of Eucalyptus  Avenue.  Officers  immediately  responded  to  the scene and encountered two males attempting to flee from the home. One suspect, Terrell Scott, was taken into custody as he fled from the house. The second suspect was able to flee on foot and was not apprehended.   The residents  were not at home  at the time of this  burglary.

 

Officers conducted additional investigation and were able to positively identify the second suspect as an 18 year-old male from San Francisco. The suspects’ vehicle was located  nearby. Officers  conducted surveillance of the suspects’ vehicle and at about 12:45 pm, the outstanding suspect returned to the vehicle.

 

Officers attempted to stop the suspect, but the suspect entered the vehicle and fled. The suspect failed to yield to the police vehicle. A few blocks away, the suspect ran a red light and collided with a minivan in the intersection of W. Orange Avenue at Grand Avenue. The suspect then fled on foot  again and was able to evade the police despite a lengthy search. The driver of the minivan, a 50 year­ old resident of San Francisco, received minor non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

 

Terrell  Scott was booked into the San Mateo County main jail for residential burglary, felony conspiracy, and for committing a fe)ony while out on bail. The outstanding suspect (name not being released at this time) is currently wanted for the residential burglary, resisting and evading the police, felony reckless driving, felony reckless evading, and hit & run with injuries.
